Terms & Conditions — Travel Waivers
1. What this app does
Travel Waivers publishes airline travel-waiver notices to subreddits where a moderator has installed it. A travel waiver is an airline’s announcement that passengers on certain routes and dates may change their flights without the usual fee, generally in response to weather or another disruption.
The app is an execution tool only. It does not decide what to publish or when. It receives a prepared title, body and optional structured summary from the operator’s backend and turns them into a Reddit post.
2. Accuracy, and the limits of it
Waiver information is published on a best-effort basis and is not authoritative.
Airlines are the sole authority on their own travel waivers. Waivers are issued, amended, extended and cancelled at short notice. A post made by this app reflects what the operator’s systems understood at the moment of publication and may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong.
Always confirm with the airline before making or changing travel arrangements. Do not rely on a Reddit post, including one made by this app, as the basis for a travel decision. The operator accepts no liability for losses arising from reliance on information published by this app.
The app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any airline. Airline names and codes appear solely to identify whose waiver is being described.
3. Installation and moderator control
Installing the app on a subreddit requires moderator permission, and moderators retain full control:
- The app is disabled by default. A freshly installed app requests no publication work and posts nothing until a moderator enables it.
- A moderator may disable or uninstall the app at any time through Reddit’s app configuration screen. Once disabled, the app will not request new publication work.
- Posts made by the app are ordinary Reddit posts and are subject to the subreddit’s own moderation, including removal, locking and flair rules.
Posts are made by the app’s own Reddit account, not by any human user’s account.
4. Acceptable use
The app is offered for use by subreddit communities with a genuine interest in airline travel disruption. You may not use it to:
- publish content to a community whose moderators have not consented to its installation;
- misrepresent the app’s output as an official airline communication;
- attempt to interfere with, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the operator’s backend services.
The operator may decline to serve, or may withdraw service from, any installation and may disable an installation server-side without notice.
5. Availability
The app is provided as is and as available, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.
The operator does not guarantee that the app will run continuously, that any particular waiver will be published, or that a published waiver will be updated when it changes. Service may be suspended, degraded, or discontinued at any time.
6. Data
The app does not collect information about individual Reddit users or their activity. What it sends to the operator’s backend and what it stores are described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
7. Intellectual property
Waiver text originates with the airlines and is reproduced for informational purposes. Maps and other generated imagery are produced by the operator’s systems. The app’s own source code is the property of the operator.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the app or reliance on information it publishes — including missed flights, fare differences, accommodation costs, or other travel expenses.
9. Changes
These terms may change. Material changes will be reflected in this document and in the app’s listing; the Last updated date above marks the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
